About

At ECHC we provide vulnerable individuals, primarily those with mental health problems, with short or long term housing and support. We create high quality homes which are combined with innovative and flexible support packages, tailored to each person.

We have been providing the service for over thirty years. Currently offering support to over 100 service users, we continue to expand to meet demand and open on average one new home a year.

We are well known and highly regarded within the sector. This means we are often approached from social services and health authorities both locally and outside the area. We have a reputation for getting the job done, quickly and effectively. When needed, we are able to put a robust care package in place, that meets all the requirements of the authorities and the particular individual.

We provide a safe environment in which every service user enjoys just the right level of support.

Our fundamental aim is to help everyone live a better life. We provide people with an essential service when they most need it and give them encouragement for the future. This can range from just a helping hand on an ad-hoc basis to full residential support 24 hours a day. No case is too difficult and even if a person doesn’t meet our criteria we will usually be able to recommend an alternative solution.

We provide all our service users with a home from home – somewhere that is comfortable, well-furnished, clean and safe – and above all, where they will feel welcome and supported.

We like to think we turn things round for people and set them on a new path.

Senior Support Worker

I really enjoy living here and doing different activities; this helps me feel more self-assured and my confidence has improved over the years. I also like it that my family can visit me.
